Décidément, Trent Reznor continue toujours aussi actif. Après un EP sorti en juin dernier avec son nouveau groupe How To Destroy Angels, le travail sur la BO du nouveau film de David Fincher, “The Social Network” et le projet d’adaptation en mini-série sur HBO de ‘Year Zero’, voici l’annonce d’une réédition de ‘Pretty Hate Machine’.
Pour rappel, ce dernier est le premier album studio de Nine Inch Nails sorti en 1989. Sa réédition débarquera chez les disquaires le 22 novembre prochain. On y trouvera en bonus une reprise de « Get Down, Make Love », un titre de Queen qui était sorti en B-side de leur single ‘Sin’ en 1990.
La nouvelle a été confirmée par Trent Reznor lui-même sur le site officiel du groupe :
« Je suis heureux d’enfin annoncer la réédition de ‘Pretty Hate Machine’, premier album de Nine Inch Nails, pour le 22 novembre dans le monde entier. UMe et Bicycle Music Group ont réussi à retrouver les enregistrements originaux, alors je suis allé en studio avec Tom Baker [l’ingénieur du son, ndlr] et nous les avons remasterisés afin de proposer une expérience sonore considérablement améliorée. En outre, Rob [Rob Sheridan, ndlr] a réinterprété la pochette originale de Gary Talpas…
Ce fut une aventure intéressante de regarder le destin de cet album passer de mains en mains (une histoire longue et déprimante) mais il a finalement atterri en territoire accueillant, pour que nous puissions le polir et vous le présenter. Nous avons pris plaisir à revisiter ce vieil ami, espérons que vous apprécierez aussi. »
